As we age our skin begins to wrinkle and gravity start to take its toll. We start to loose elasticity in the skin from a variety of factors, such as sun damage, smoking, alcohol, dehydration and unhealthy diets. It’s simply inevitable – saggy face skin happens, no matter how hard you try to avoid it.
Not only does face skin begin to wrinkle and sag, it also begins to thin out and become more sensitive. While professional creams and serums, like our Erase Cosmetics 3 Minute Instant Facelift, create a detour for the pesky saggy face skin, it’s important for sensitive, aging skin to use natural remedies as well.
EGG WHITES
Egg whites are some of the best natural astringents you can find. The hydro-lipids found in egg whites help to lift and tighten skin and shrink pores, making them one of the quickest and most effective natural remedies for saggy face skin.
Simply whisk one egg white and apply to the face and neck area (avoiding the eyes). Lay your head back as you let the egg white dry and rinse off after 15 minutes with cold water. If you have fairly dry saggy face skin, you may want to add a teaspoon of olive oil or plain yogurt to the egg white for moisture (only use twice a week).
LEMONS
Saggy face skin can always use a good dose of vitamin C and that’s exactly what lemon juice will give you. Not only does the citrus help boost collagen, it also helps to restore buoyancy and glow to your skin.
Use about a tablespoon of fresh lemon juice mixed with water and apply gently to your face with a cotton ball or pad. Let the juice dry for about 10 minutes and rinse off with warm water. You can repeat this twice a day, but always be sure to follow it with a quality moisturizer.
HONEY
Honey is a natural antioxidant and contains multiple anti aging properties that are imperative for naturally treating saggy face skin. It not only helps to tighten saggy face skin, but also to treat premature wrinkles and adult acne.
You will want to mix 2 tablespoons of honey with a few drops of olive oil and lemon juice before application. Once mixed, apply the honey to your face and neck area and rinse off with warm water once it is dry (about 10-15 minutes).
You can repeat this face and neck mask daily, however if you have extra sensitive skin or overly dry skin you may want to start with a few times per week and review how your skin reacts to the mixture.
CUCUMBER
Cucumber is one of our favorite go-to natural remedies for saggy face skin. It’s one of the best natural skin toners and is full of healthy hydration your skin needs. It will always leave your face feeling refreshed and youthful.
To apply, simply blend half of a cucumber and extract the left over juice (there will be plenty). Apply the cucumber juice to the face and neck area with cotton and rinse off after about 15 minutes. You can perform this daily, and even try mixing two tablespoons of yogurt in for an evening face mask that can help fight saggy face skin overnight.
OLIVE OIL
Massaging your face and neck with olive oil might be one of the oldest natural remedies for saggy face skin, but it’s still one of the best. The olive oil contains antioxidants like vitamin A and E that help tighten and firm skin, while keeping it smooth and moisturized.
Before application you may want to slightly warm the olive oil, and only use a few drops when applying to your face and neck. Massage the oil into your skin in a clockwise motion on your face and an upward motion on your neck (for at least 5-10 minutes) and voila – you’re ready to go! No rinsing necessary.
