The more society focuses on all-natural beauty treatments and lifestyles, the more we are beginning to see surgical facelifts as a thing of the past. There’s no need to spend thousands of dollars cutting and tucking your body, and there’s no need to run the risk of serious health issues to stay looking and feeling youthful.
There are so many natural, easy and quick ways you can begin to take better care of yourself and your skin. And what better time of year to start? It’s almost summertime and the sun is out. Your skin has more color and the days are longer. It’s time to switch up your daily routine and give yourself an all natural facelifts – without heading to the plastic surgeon.
Change up your palette
You want to go for a low-key, light and playful makeup palette for the warmer months. You’re skin tone is tanned, your hair has natural highlights and your winter palette simply won’t cut it right now. It’s summer – time to highlight your natural assets. No need to spend thousands of dollars on surgical facelifts , use what nature and your local cosmetic store provides.
Start with trying a new primer and concealer to match your new skin tone, and skip the foundation and mascara. Simply highlight your cheekbones, define your eyebrows, add a dewy lip and voila – you’ve got an instant facelift. With a little sun, the skin tone often becomes more even, making it easier to abide by the “less is more” rule.
Stay hydrated
If you don’t already moisturize daily, start now. To get a natural facelift you’ll need to start with keeping your skin hydrated. The leading cause of wrinkles and sagging face skin is the loss of moisture and collagen in the skin. This happens naturally as we age, so the older you get the more you need to give your skin.
The sun’s damage doesn’t help either. It may be impossible to avoid the sunshine, but it’s not impossible to keep your skin healthy and give yourself a little facelift. Use a moisturizer with an SPF of at least 30 and remember to apply a few times throughout the day to keep your skin tight and glowing.
Get a fresh cut
One of the easiest ways to get a surgical-free facelift is with a new do. Shed some weight on your hair this summer and add layers to help lift and shape your face. A new style can give your face more angular cheekbones, lifted eyebrows and a more defined face.
A long bob, or lob, is a great way to shape the cheekbones with layers, giving the illusion of a serious facelift. The shorter, traditional bob also helps add a frame to your face, and has been a go-to style for decades (and for good reason, just ask Anna Wintour).
Use a homemade mask
While there are endless DIY face mask recipes out there, so we’ve narrowed it down to our favorite (and most effective) facelift mask. It’s easy and organic, and you can create in your own kitchen. All you need are a few household ingredients.
Start with a handful of mashed strawberries; add 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of yogurt and 1 tablespoon of honey. Mix items together by hand (do not blend) and spread the paste evenly to the face. Let it dry and rinse off with cold water. Your skin will be left feeling refreshed and healthy, giving the illusion of a professional facelift in less than an hour.
